Brands, big or small alike, have been turning to social media to engage with their fans, build brand awareness and reach out to other audiences. If leveraged well, the results can be pretty astonishing. These five brands sure know their way around social media.
We’re guilty of being hooked on Airbnb’s Instagram feed. They continue to awe us with their beautiful beach houses overlooking the sunset, cozy cottages with crackling fireplace and treehouses in the middle of the air. #housegoals, you say? Most of the photos posted are shared from their fans as they share their stories and experiences with the #Airbnb community. Airbnb is definitely doing a great job in making us green with envy as we fight to stop ourselves from scrolling on and on.
Oreo may be the world’s favorite cookies, but they are also one of our favorite social media to follow. They’ve just got the cutest (and delicious-looking) graphics and gifs featuring their signature chocolate cookies. Well-played, Oreo!

We haven’t come across anyone who’s not a Disney fan. Disney often post iconic scenes from their movies and inspirational quotes that makes us feel warm and fuzzy on the inside. You’ll never be too old for Disney. In fact, looking at these photos make us feel young again!

Instagram recently introduced Instagram Stories in August last year – a feature which allows you to share moments of your day and disappears after 24 hours. We like that brands are now hopping on the bandwagon, and one brand that expertly weaves in story-telling into social media is Mercedes-Benz. The behind-the-scene captures let fans like us have a peek at the fun and spontaneous side of Mercedes-Benz we never knew about, and it gives us a sense of connection with the brand. Notice also that the trend of video sharing is shifting from landscape to vertical composition.
We all know Wendy’s is famous for its “Baconator” and their “chili cheese fries”, but have you heard about their tweets that have taken the storm lately? Their snide and hilarious tweets makes for entertaining lunch talks. Wendy’s’ Twitter reminds us of that snarky aunt you have over the holidays, and don’t we just love her? We of course don’t recommend all brands to start doing this. Not everyone can pull it off the way Wendy’s does.
